Participating in a community of like-minded men helps to keep them from social scenes such as bars, nightclubs, and house parties where alcohol and drugs can be easily accessed. In the early 1990s, many families of teenagers and young men approached Vanderburgh House to help address their son’s addictions. At the time, long-term, sober living resident services for teens and young men in Los Angeles were unavailable. The disparity in their emotional ages, social skills, and life experiences was significant enough to require different approaches for each group of men for sobriety. Allowing you the perfect environment to build life and coping skills in a new and supportive sober living home surrounded by the recovery community of our Alumni. Steven Graduated Miracle in 2021 and has been sponsoring and showing up for the guys ever since.

Our 12-Step Social Program for recovery from substance abuse  includes therapy, peer support and medication management for you to recover safely. Dominic is the Manager at New Life West, and  is a graduate of Vanderburgh House himself. As such, Dominic has a comprehensive understanding of the program, and a love for helping others actualize their recovery. Outside of the recovery home, Dominic is a passionate skydiver, surfer, and fisher.

Successful artist and muralist in his native city, Los Angeles, for the last 13 years. Steve ran a successful studio and gallery space, worked on television sets, and has been involved in the city’s creative culture for years before his journey with New Life. He has been around highly structured sober livings for the last 6 years committed to self-improvement and all others who come into a process like New Life.

With the help of our program structure, caring staff, loving community, and decades of experience, we can build something beautiful—together.

From Our Families

Thereafter, Robert has had experience fostering recovery within the New Life and AA community in many different capacities. He strives to utilize this experience to create an environment conducive to long term success and sobriety. Robert is not only a group facilitator, but also a life coach and sponsor for many within the recovery community at large, whilst also pursuing his degree in International Studies and Japanese Language at CSU Long Beach.

Additionally, we can help them with employment or education opportunities, and ongoing recovery support.

Sebastian takes pride in having the opportunity to help young men transform their lives while working with their families. Dr. Josh Lichtman is an experienced psychiatrist who has been practicing for close to two decades.
